TF1 - Self-powered BNC TTL to Fiber-Optic Converter
Description
The TF1-850 is an efficient solution for converting TTL signals to ST fiber. This self-powered device draws power directly from the TTL input itself to drive the optical output, so no external power supply is needed. It accepts any TTL signal capable of driving a 50 Ohm terminated load: 10mA minimum drive current is recommended, rising to 30mA if you need full-rate transmission over a long fiber run.
The TF1 handles signal frequencies from DC to 25 MHz with a propagation delay of 25 nanoseconds or less, and its Broadcom (Avago) HFBR-1415TZ 850nm ST-bayonet transmitter can carry a signal up to 400m over 62.5 micron glass-core fiber. The compact package uses M2.5 threaded mounting holes for easy integration, and is rated for 10 to 35C operation and 0 to 50C storage, both at under 80% humidity, non-condensing.
For applications that require bidirectional conversion or cannot drive a 30mA load, consider the X22-ST-850 as an alternative; it is designed to pair directly with the TF1. If you need to fan out the signal to multiple fiber outputs, the X14 is the recommended choice.
