About Us

Pyramid Technical Consultants, Inc. was established in 1986. The company serves customers in the USA and Europe from its base in Lexington, Massachusetts, and through its subsidiary company in England (www.ptceurope.com). In addition to full-time employees, Pyramid benefits from an extended team of electronic engineers, circuit layout designers and regular consultants, the latter based at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

 

Pyramid provides instrument control systems for the medical, semiconductor equipment, physics research and biological research markets. The systems typically involve electronics hardware, embedded real-time software, and host system software drivers and applications. Our company’s partciular specialization is in multichannel low-current measurement and detector system readout.

In addition to its range of products, Pyramid also offers engineering services in these market areas, typically producing hardware and software solutions tailored to a customers’ exact requirements.

Company Principals

Paul BoisseauDr Paul Boisseau, President

Paul Boisseau carried out research on synchrotron-based PIXE spectroscopy and three-dimensional tomographic reconstruction methods at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He then joined Eaton Semiconductor, where he was senior physicist on the successful ion linac high energy implanter. Since founding Pyramid he has been involved in all of the company’s projects, and is responsible for physics concepts and electronics development.

 


 

Christopher PendeltonChristopher Pendleton, Software Engineer

Chris is responsible for development of host software systems at Pyramid. He gained degrees in Physics from Providence College, and in Computer Science from Columbia University.

 

 


 

Andrew DartAndrew Dart, Chief Mechanical Engineer

Andrew Dart received a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Auckland. He has designed key components of many of the ion implanter systems used worldwide, and has particular expertise in electromagnet and vacuum component design. He has overall responsibility for all of Pyramid's mechanical design and development.

 


 

Yuriy KozlovYuriy Kozlov, Software Engineer

Yuriy is responsible for embedded software development. He specializes in Linux systems, and is active in the open source development community. He graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bill NettWilliam Nett, Vice-President

Bill Nett has a BS in Chemistry and a Masters in Business Administration. After holding senior software and finance positions at Thermo Electron Corporation, he founded Pyramid Technical Consultants with Paul Boisseau and concentrated on software design. He created the successful PTC Interpreter system for instrument control. He leads all software development projects at Pyramid.

 


 

John GordonDr John Gordon, Product Development Director

John Gordon performed research on multiwire proportional chambers at University of Leicester, England. His subsequent experience includes X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry, UHV ion beam systems, superconducting cyclotrons for PET, accelerator beamline equipment, and ion implantation. At Pyramid he directs product development and systems engineering, and is your first contact for technical sales enquiries.

 


 

Peter ScheidlerPeter Scheidler, Electrical Engineer

 Peter is responsible for electronic design, with particular emphasis on digital design and FPGA programming. He graduated as an Electronics Engineer from Harvey Mudd College.
