High-performance control modules for distributed systems

A range of I/O and control modules with flexible interfacing options allowing rapid startup out of the box, yet the performance and flexibility to permit large-scale system integration.

  • A 10 Mbit/s fiber optic serial interface allows multiple devices to be connected in a loop configuration, eliminating problems from electrical transients, ground loops, and providing support for subsystems floating at an elevated potential.
  • RS-232 and USB interfaces are provided for use in diagnostic configurations, or systems with a reduced need for electrical isolation.
  • Local data processing and buffering capability can significantly reduce the load on the host system.
  • Multi-unit modules can be used to support clusters of instrumentation where appropriate.

For maximum electrical isolation, a single-channel device can be used for an individual power supply, motion axis or transducer.

Low Current Measurement

A range of products to read out ionization chambers, multiwire counters, scintillation detectors and diode detectors.  Pre-amplifiers are followed by fast ADCs and FPGA digital processing to handle functions like current or pulse integration, pulse shape discrimination, pile-up rejection and energy binning. These devices are completely compatible with the more general I/O devices, and include the same range of communication modes.

Special devices

Unique products such as the H10 combined Hall probe/pickup loop for DC and AC magnetic field measurement and the D100 fully-digital pulse processor for photomultipliers round out the product range, and provide a comprehensive range of capability for scientists working with particle accelerators, beamlines and radiation systems.
